杀鸡儆猴,拼音是shā jī jǐng hóu,意思是杀鸡给猴子看。比喻用惩罚一个人的办法来警告别的人。出自《易经·师》。

Literally, it means killing a chicken as a warning to monkeys. Metaphorlly, it means punishing someone as a warning to others.
